Martina Schubert is Minister Plenipotentiary and Deputy Director of the Vienna School of International Studies (since 2022). She previously served as Austria’s Deputy Head of Mission to NATO and held senior roles at the Permanent Representation of Austria to the EU, including during two Austrian EU Council Presidencies. She was Senior Vice President for Corporate Public Affairs at OMV in Brussels and a member of the Cabinet of EU Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs. She joined Austria’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1994. She holds a Law Degree from the University of Salzburg and an M.A. from the Collège d’Europe in Bruges.
