David Burigana, PhD and Associate Professor of History of International Relations, has been Work package leader in “InsSCiDE – Inventing a Shared Science Diplomacy for Europe” Horizon2020, Head of Unit of (Italian Research Project of National Interest) PRIN 2017 and PRIN 2022. He is a Director of a School on Techno-Science Diplomacy in Padua University and Co-Director of an International School on Science and Diplomacy at Ettore Majorana Center (Erice, Sicily) https://www.sciencediplomacy.it/, and coordinator of Curriculum 7 Law, Economy and Space Diplomacy in National PhD Program in Space Science and Technology – SST | UniTrento as supervisor for three PhD Students two from ESA (European Space Agency) and another financed by ASI (Italian Space Agency) on the history of Space Diplomacy, a project presented by D. Burigana; he is member of the Doctorate in Sciences, Technologies and Measurements for Space (Unipd). He is member of the Board of Directors of CISAS “Giuseppe Colombo” Center for Space Studies and Activities (Unipd), chairs in History of International Organizations, History of Science Diplomacy (and up to AY 2024-25 International History of Science and Technology), European Integration History, Microelectronics and Geopolitics, Co-Chair of Law and International Policies on Space, PI of Unipd Space Diplomacy Observatory (https://www.spacediplomacy.it), member of Commission of History of International Relations (CHIR), of Italian Society of International History (SiSi), of the Society for the History of Technology (SHOT). Recently, D. Burigana with A. Paccagnella launched a new collection on “Entangled History and Geopolitics of Science and Technology” by Padova University Press. Author of several articles, books and chapters on Science, Technology and Diplomacy.
