Christina Hainzl is head of the transdisciplinary Lab Democracy and Society in Transition at the University for Continuing Education Krems. She is also an affiliated researcher at the Art Ecologies research cluster at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice. Christina studied art, history and political communication in Salzburg and Florence. She received fellowships from the Rockefeller Archive and the Fohn Foundation for Visual Arts for her research on the cultural cold war in Rome and at MOMA New York. Christina has worked on the reciprocities between visual arts and society as well as art in international / transcultural relations (with a focus on the Mediterranean and Arab regions) as a curator and, later, at university. In 2024, she initiated the network on culture, art and heri­tage within the European Union Science Diplomacy Alliance (with Eric Piaget).Â
